Romans 8:30
Pastor Tony continues to review the order of salvation from Romans Chapter 8. This is the second of two sermons on justification. Justification by faith alone–in Christ alone–was the battle cry of the Reformation. Sadly, many Protestant churches have lost their understanding of this important doctrine. Question 33 in the Westminster Shorter Catechism defines justification as an act of God’s free grace, wherein he pardons all our sins, and accepts us as righteous in his sight, only by the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, and received by faith alone.

Romans 8:30; Galatians 3
In this sermon, Pastor Tony describes the law as a mirror to show us our sins and to point us to the Savior. The law was not given as a means for people to earn their way to heaven. God’s Word clearly teaches that no one can be or has ever been justified by his or her own work. For salvation, Old Testament saints looked forward to the Coming Redeemer, and we look back to the Lamb of God who was slain for the sins of the world.

Romans 8:29-30; Acts 16:30-31
Genuine repentance and saving faith are the two sides of the same coin of salvation. Conversion consists of both repentance and faith. This sermon is a continuation of Pastor Tony’s series on Paul’s Letter to the Romans. By examining Acts 16:30-31 along with other Scripture sources, this sermon looks at what it means to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ—what it means to have faith.

Romans 8:28-30; John 3
Regeneration is one step in salvation that is not listed in Romans 8:29-30 but is clear from other parts of Scripture including John chapter 3. The Scripture teaches that the natural man will not respond to God’s call to salvation. A spiritual heart transplant leading to regeneration is required to respond to the call of the Gospel.

Romans 8:29-30
In this sermon, Pastor Tony provides an overview of the five steps in the application of redemption to sinful man: foreknowledge, predestination, calling, justification, and glorification. Romans 8:28
Romans 8:28 is the connecting bond between the first 27 verses in Romans 8 and the last 11 verses. Verse 28 summarizes all that the Apostle Paul was saying in the first 27 verses. To understand Romans 8:28, it must be examined in its immediate context. In this sermon, Pastor Tony provides the context for understanding Romans 8:28.
